We all know of the potential benefits of investing in property, especially when shares and pensions have come under a lot of pressure in recent years. Many of us look at the capital gains enjoyed by those who invested in Spain and Ireland, for example, a few years ago and we wonder where the next “hot-spot” area is likely to be in order that we, too, can look to reap significant benefits from overseas property investment.

Help is at hand… Having recently returned from a training and inspection trip to Cyprus, I thought I’d share with you some of the potential benefits of investing in property there. Over 300 days of sunshine per annum make this a fun, sunshine investment with good rental returns. Coupled to this, some of the properties on offer are located close to existing golf courses (and there are a further 14 golf courses in the planning stages) so the fun continues.
The Troodos mountains in Cyprus also offer skiing from late November through to early March so you have the option of skiing in the morning and sunbathing by
the pool, or in one of the beautiful coves, in the afternoon! Cyprus is a member of the European Union but has yet to take on the Euro – and we have all seen what happens to countries getting the Euro (prices, including property, tend to rise) and EU investment in infrastructure really improves communication links.
Already, both Pathos and Larnaca airports are set to double in size to handle the increased number of visitors expected over the next few years. Cyprus has a very advantageous tax regime to
